History of the Nursery
The nursery was set up in 1999. The original idea was to produce a range of container grown organic herbs that would be no more expensive than conventionally produced herbs. A county by county search was made to find the best area for growing and back up for organic products. The South West lends itself to the organic ethos and Cornwall, thanks in part to Prince Charles, the heart of the organic industry.
The nursery was established near Launceston on the edge of Bodmin Moor and a range of herbs were identified as the core product range. It is essential that organic seed be used and this restricts the full range of plants that can be produced.
In 2005 a series of collections were developed. These collections were first shown at the Royal Cornwall Show and then at The South West Regional Growers Show. The award for best new retail product was received.
